Conclusion

Environmental sustainability is a growing preoccupation of both the co-operative sector and the broader Canadian public. This Guide offers an operational framework for co-operatives to deploy in order to improve their overall environmental performance, and to continue to lead by example. It provides an overview of sustainable management systems and discusses tools for implementation, and then identifies and examines in detail specific areas that co-operatives can target to improve their environmental performance.
