In Canada, credit unions have largely abandoned the poor to government programs. In Ghana, credit unions are making a real difference every day in the standard of living for the poor and others in their communities.
I found out about the coaching program in the weekly newsletter Capsules from the credit union central here in Manitoba. I first looked at the program to Uganda/Malawi but could not get organized (time away from the credit union and family) to apply to go that year. I applied to the one the next year for Ghana. I strongly recommend the CCA Coaching Program to any manager looking to have a great life changing experience while helping those less fortunate."
Right now our credit union is hosting Evelyn Antwi from Madina Community Co-operative Credit Union in Ghana, who is in Canada to attend CCA's Women's Mentoring Program.
