Who?
Volunteers who want to become part of a development education team and visit one of CCA's overseas projects. Most study tours have a fundraising component.
What?
You will learn firsthand about co-operatives and credit unions and share your stories upon return to Canada. Participants will learn about CCA's work in the country, visit a number of co-operatives and participate in development education workshops.
Study tour delegations are accompanied by CCA staff and a language interpreter if needed.
Why?
Canadian credit union and co-operative members enable millions of men, women and children to forge a better future. They do this by channelling their knowledge and volunteer services to the International Development Program of the Canadian Co-operative Association (CCA) and by giving generously to its fundraising arm, the Co-operative Development Foundation.
"Fundraising for CDF gave me the opportunity to teach my colleagues, friends, family and friends about what CCA provides to developing countries. I grew so much personally and professionally - it was rewarding to know that I conquered my goal!" - Trish Rasmussen, participant of CDF's Journey Out of Poverty study tour to Sri Lanka, 2011.
