| Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises |
Nearly all of CCA's development work over the past 40 years has involved private sector development, with a particular focus on the creation and strengthening of micro, small, and medium enterprises in Asia, Africa, and the Americas. CCA works extensively with co-operatively-owned small and medium enterprises, and they in-turn support the small and micro enterprises of members. For example, CCA's expertise in supporting Savings and Credit Co-operatives is linked to extending inclusive financial services to the poor (micro-finance), often to create or strengthen member-owned micro enterprises. Agricultural co-operatives - again generally small or medium private sector enterprises - serve members whose farms are small or micro enterprises. CCA has developed and delivered technical assistance and training of trainer packages in a wide range of economic sectors. These packages enable start-up, market access, value-addition, supply chain management, institutional strengthening, governance, business relations and policy development.
