CCA members understand how co-operatives improve lives and communities from the experiences of Canada's own co-operative development. CCA's international work has evolved into an innovative development program that facilitates the transfer of funding, technical skills and knowledge between co-operative networks in Canada and co-operatives and credit unions in over 40 developing countries.
Whether helping credit unions re-emerge in Ukraine, aiding farmers in El Salvador to grow better crops, organizing savings and credit programs with women in Uganda, or training co-operative developers in Indonesia, CCA and its in-country partners are creating people-based institutions that reduce poverty and build healthy communities.
