Canada's  nearly 17 million co-operative members are part of a much larger global movement of some 800 million people -- all co-owners of community-based co-operative enterprises that deliver the services and benefits they need. While each is autonomous and independent, they all share the same  values of a co-operative

Through their membership in the Canadian Co-operative Association, they are also part of the International Co-operative Alliance which represents and furthers the interests of co-operative movements in 96 countries around the globe.

We are also linked through the work that we do to help strengthen co-operatives worldwide.

Canadians are helping men and women in developing countries turn poverty into prosperity. They are doing this by channelling their knowledge and volunteer services to the International development program of the CCA and giving generously to its fundraising arm the Co-operative Development Foundation of Canada
