Coaching Opportunities Available

CCA's Coaching Program takes a hands-on approach that enables Canadian credit union professionals to share their skills and advice directly with our international partner credit unions. Working in teams of two, coaches spend two weeks sharing their knowledge and expertise with credit unions in the African countries of Uganda, Malawi and Ghana. This year we are expanding our program to include Mongolia. Volunteers return the following year for a second session of coaching.
CCA is proud of the success of this program. Thanks to the dedication of our Canadian volunteers, we have been able to expand and create two distinct Coaching Programs.
The Management Coaching Program
CCA's Management Coaching Program is a generalist approach to credit union coaching. Each partner credit union will have its own unique challenges, one that a well-rounded manager will be able to help identify and improve. This program has been running successfully for many years, and feedback continues to show that both our international partners and Canadian volunteers find the program invaluable.

The Governance Coaching Program
The Governance Training Program offers a unique opportunity for Canadian credit union and co-operative leaders to put their governance and leadership skills to use while gaining personal growth and education. This program is designed to provide our overseas partner board members with governance training. It is supplemented with peer-to-peer mentorship from experienced volunteer Canadian board members/directors. The program includes face-to-face group work with local leaders, field visits to primary credit unions and meeting with board members.

Charlie Collura is the CEO of the Hamilton Municiple Employees Credit Union and was involved in this years Uganda/Malawi Coaching Program. He travelled to Uganda with his partner, Tammy Chrisopher, Chief Finanical Officer of OMISTA Credit Union in Moncton. They worked with four different credit unions over the course of the two week program, learning about the creit union system and communities they stayed in. They spent a couple of days in each credit union discussing issues that staff and managers would like to see resolved and making recommendations to the credit union's board of directors. |
