National Youth Caucus:

Young co-operators have been key stakeholders in co-operatives for many generations, and there has been a history of youth involvement which has changed and evolved over time. When the CCA and co-operators across Canada celebrated CCA's 100 th anniversary in 2009, CCA made a commitment to develop a Youth Action Strategy as one of the major initiatives shaping the centenary celebrations. The commitment to develop a Youth Action Strategy looks to the future, increasing awareness and participation among young Canadians in co-operatives. CCA is in the process of developing a National Youth Action Strategy, which includes:
- A National Youth Caucus that has been meeting since 2010. This group is made up of young Canadians, co-operative and credit union organizations from across the country, Youth Program Managers from some of the provincial associations and co-operative academics.
- Connecting through technology. We want to hear from young people, connect with young people and use technology to our advantage, reaching across time and geography to engage youth.
- Building on the recommendations and feedback that was provided at the 2008 CCA Youth Forum and Joint Youth Congress with le Conseil canadien de la coopération et de la mutualité
