IYC launched across Canada!
Thousands of co-operators across Canada celebrated the launch of the International Year of Co-operatives on January 12 with events all over the country, a live webcast from Ottawa and a very successful Twitter campaign. CLICK HERE for a story about the launch in the Co-operative News.

The Canadian Co-operative Association provides leadership to promote, develop and unite co-operatives and credit unions for the benefit of people in Canada and around the world. Our members come from many sectors of the economy, including finance, insurance, agri-food and supply, wholesale and retail, housing, health, and the service sector.

Prime Minister brings greetings to IYC launch

Prime Minister Stephen Harper added his voice to the thousands of Canadians who participated in the January 12 Canadian launch of the International Year of Co-operatives. Co-operative enterprises build better communities!

Just in time for the Canadian launch of the International Year of Co-operatives, the Ontario Co-operative Association has erected some 40 billboards across the province promoting co-ops.  This one is located on St. Laurent Boulevard in Ottawa, a major commercial thoroughfare in the east end of the city.
